Restoring large defects (in surface or volume) in posterior teeth using BRD techniques implies almost inevitably the use of CAD/CAM techniques either chairside (semi-direct) or through a dental laboratory (semi-indirect). There is a plethora of CAD/CAM materials, and the module will help the clinician make the best choice based on science, experience and common sense, including all detailed steps (tooth preparation, IDS, design, customization and delivery). This course will help each dentist with mastering the “next level” type of inlays/onlays/endocrowns with IDS. After a presentation of the classification and indications of so-called semi-(in)direct restorative techniques (including CAD/CAM systems), the hands-on will dive into the basics of large intracoronal tooth preparations and use of short-fiber composite resin liners and build-ups.
